Your customers are searching for what you do right now. The question is whether they are finding you or your competitors. Our SEO services cover exactly that.
SEO is still the most cost-effective way to generate consistent, organic enquiries for your business. But in 2026 it looks different. AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity still need sources, entities and trust signals: and those signals come from solid SEO foundations.
At The GEO Agency we build SEO that works for the way search actually behaves now.
What Is Included
Technical SEO
We audit and fix what is stopping Google from properly crawling, indexing and understanding your site. Page speed, mobile performance, schema markup, crawl errors: all of it. Most SME websites have critical technical issues they do not know about.
On-Page Optimisation
Every key page on your site structured to rank. The right keywords, headings, meta data that converts, and content that signals expertise and authority to both Google and AI engines.
Content Strategy
We identify what your customers are actually searching for and build a plan to get you ranking for it. Every piece of content is built to rank on Google and be cited by AI tools.
Link Authority
We build the external signals that tell Google your business is credible and worth surfacing. Relevant backlinks from sources that matter in your sector.
Schema and Structured Data
We implement the structured data that helps Google and AI tools understand who you are, what you do and why you should be recommended. This matters because AI search still needs sources, entities and trust signals: and schema is one of the fastest ways to provide them.
Why SEO Still Matters
Gartner predicted that traditional search engine volume could drop 25% by 2026 because of AI chatbots and virtual agents. That is the bit everyone quotes. Here is the bit most people miss.
AI search still pulls from the indexed web. A business with strong SEO foundations shows up in Google results and in AI-generated answers. A business with weak SEO foundations shows up in neither.
SEO still helps customers find you when they are actively searching for your service. What has changed is that you must optimise across organic results, maps, reviews and AI-style answers: not just chase one keyword ranking.
Who This Is For
We work with SMEs across medical aesthetics, financial services, home services, and coaching and consulting.
Most clients come to us with one of three problems:
- Their website gets traffic but no enquiries
- They rank for nothing and do not know why
- Their SEO was set up years ago and has never been properly maintained
SEO in 2026 looks different from even two years ago. Google AI Overviews now appear for a significant portion of searches, answering questions directly without requiring clicks. AI assistants like ChatGPT are becoming how some people discover businesses entirely. The fundamentals still matter: but understanding how they fit into this changed landscape is essential.
If any of that sounds familiar, we can fix it.
What Makes Us Different
Most SEO agencies stop at Google rankings.
We built The GEO Agency from the ground up to cover SEO, GEO, AI automation and reputation under one roof. Every technical fix, every piece of content and every link we build is designed to help you rank on Google and get recommended by AI.
That is the only approach that makes sense in 2026.
How long does SEO take to work?
SEO typically delivers meaningful improvements within 3 to 6 months. Some technical fixes produce quicker wins. The key is consistency, businesses that maintain a steady SEO programme outperform those that treat it as a one-off project.
How much do your SEO services cost?
SEO spend in the UK varies widely by scope, and the figure on a quote matters less than what it actually buys.
Do I need SEO if I am already doing GEO?
Yes. GEO and SEO work together. AI tools pull from the indexed web. Weak SEO foundations undermine your GEO visibility. We always recommend running both together.
Can you help a business that has never done SEO before?
Yes. Many of our clients start from zero. We build the foundations properly from the start rather than fixing years of shortcuts.
What is the difference between SEO \u0026amp; GEO?
What is the difference between SEO & GEO? SEO optimises your website for Google search rankings. GEO, Generative Engine Optimisation, optimises your business to be recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. In 2026 you need both.
How long does SEO take to work?
Technical fixes can register within weeks because they remove a blocker. Ranking improvements on competitive terms usually take three to six months of sustained work, and depend on how much authority the site already has. Anyone promising faster than that is guessing.
Can you guarantee a number one ranking?
No, and nobody can. Google does not sell positions and no agency controls the algorithm. What we commit to is fixing what is measurably broken, reporting what moved and what did not, and showing the working.
Do we still need SEO if we are doing GEO?
Yes. An AI engine cannot cite a page it cannot crawl or index, so the technical foundations serve both. SEO decides whether you appear in a ranked list, GEO decides whether an engine names you in an answer.
What do you need from us to start?
Access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics and the website itself, plus a short conversation about which services actually make you money. That last part decides which pages get the work.

How SEO services for small businesses differ from enterprise SEO
Most SEO advice is written for companies with a content team, a developer on call and a budget that absorbs mistakes. A small business has none of those, so the same tactics applied at a smaller scale usually produce a lot of activity and very little movement.
The difference is sequencing. At enterprise scale you can work on everything at once. At small business scale you fix what is blocking you, in order, and you leave the rest alone until it matters. That means technical problems first, because they cap everything above them, then the handful of pages that actually earn enquiries, then authority. Publishing forty blog posts before the site can be crawled properly is the most common and most expensive mistake we see.
Why rankings and traffic are the wrong things to report
Rankings move constantly, vary by location and device, and increasingly do not reflect what a person actually sees. Traffic can rise while enquiries fall. Both are easy to present in a way that looks like progress.
The numbers worth watching are narrower: which pages earn impressions, which of those convert impressions into clicks, and which produce enquiries. A page with thousands of impressions and no clicks is not a success waiting to happen, it is a page ranking too low or answering the wrong intent. That distinction decides where the next hour of work goes.
What the first ninety days look like
- Weeks one to three, find what is capping you. A full technical read: what Google can and cannot crawl, what is indexed versus what you think is indexed, page speed on real connections, and whether your most important pages are even eligible to rank. This produces a list ordered by what is blocking the most, not by what is easiest.
- Weeks four to eight, fix the blockers and the money pages. Technical issues first, because they cap everything above them. Then the handful of pages that actually earn enquiries, restructured to match what people search rather than how the business is organised internally.
- Weeks nine to twelve, measure against the start. The same Search Console numbers from week one, compared honestly. Which pages gained impressions, which converted impressions into clicks, and which did neither. That comparison decides the next quarter.
Technical fixes tend to show first because they remove an obstacle rather than build an asset. Authority takes longer and cannot be rushed by spending more.
The problems we find most often
- Two pages competing for the same term. The site has a service page and a homepage both targeting the same phrase, so the search engine picks one and buries the other. Both then underperform. It is the single most common problem we see, and it is invisible unless you look at which page ranks for what.
- Impressions with no clicks. Pages appearing in results and never being chosen, usually because they rank too low to be seen or the title answers a different question from the one asked. These look like progress in a traffic report and produce nothing.
- Headings that are not headings. Whole paragraphs marked up as headings, which destroys the document structure both search engines and AI tools rely on to understand a page.
- Thin service pages. The pages meant to sell are often the shortest on the site, while the blog carries the depth. That is backwards.
- Structured data missing or duplicated. Either absent entirely, or two conflicting versions on the same page from a plugin and a hardcoded snippet.
If you serve a local area
For a business that sells within a radius, the Google Business Profile often matters more than the website, and the two need to agree. Same trading name, same address format, same phone number, everywhere they appear. Where they disagree, search engines discount all of it rather than risk treating one business as two. That consistency work is unglamorous and it is usually the fastest local gain available.
It also feeds the AI side. When an engine is asked to recommend a business in a location, the profile is one of the most cited sources it draws on, which is covered in more depth under reputation and trust.
How SEO and GEO fit together
They are not alternatives, and they are not the same job. SEO decides whether you can be found in a ranked list. GEO decides whether an AI engine will name you in an answer. They share foundations, because an engine cannot cite a page it cannot crawl, but they diverge after that.
In practice the technical work serves both, the content work serves both if it is structured properly, and the authority work serves both. What differs is measurement. SEO is measured in positions and clicks. GEO is measured by running a fixed set of questions across named engines and saving what they say, verbatim and dated. Anyone selling you one while quietly reporting the other is worth questioning.
What SEO cannot do
It cannot deliver results in a fortnight. It cannot rescue a site with nothing worth linking to. It cannot outrank a genuinely better answer indefinitely. And it cannot be guaranteed: anyone promising a specific position on a specific term is either misreading how this works or hoping you will not check. What it can do is remove the technical obstacles, put the right pages in front of the right intent, and build the authority that makes both stick.
How the work runs
Start with The Baselineβ’It covers SEO and technical health alongside AI visibility, reputation, PR and links, and it stands on its own: no plan needed, and our plans carry no setup fee. You get the honest starting position, including the pages that turn out to be fine.
From there you either work through the priority list yourself or we run it.Either way the measurement continues, so you can see whether the work moved anything rather than taking it on trust.
