AI Consulting for Business | The GEO Agency

AI consulting from The GEO Agency

Most businesses know they should be doing something with AI. Very few know where to start: or whether what they are already doing is actually working.

That is where we come in.

Our AI consulting service is a strategic audit of your business. We look at where you are now, where AI can create the most value, and give you a clear, prioritised roadmap for implementation: without the jargon, the hype, or the six-figure consultancy bill.

Who This Is For

This service is for business owners, directors and senior leaders who:

  • Know AI is changing their industry but are not sure what to do about it
  • Have started experimenting with AI tools but have no coherent strategy
  • Want an honest, independent view of where AI is worth investing: and where it is not
  • Are being pitched AI solutions by vendors and want a second opinion before committing

We work with growing and established businesses across professional services, financial services, healthcare and aesthetics, and technology.

What the AI Consulting Engagement Covers

AI Readiness Audit

We assess where your business currently stands with AI: your tools, your processes, your data, your team capability and your appetite for change. Most businesses are further ahead in some areas and further behind in others than they realise.

Opportunity Mapping

We identify the specific areas of your business where AI can create the most value: whether that is automating repetitive tasks, improving customer experience, reducing costs, or increasing visibility and revenue. We prioritise by impact and ease of implementation.

Competitive Intelligence

We assess how your competitors and your sector are using AI: and where the gaps are. Early movers in AI implementation are building advantages that will be very difficult to close in 12 to 24 months.

Implementation Roadmap

You receive a clear, prioritised roadmap of recommended AI implementations: with realistic timelines, costs and expected outcomes. No vague recommendations. No technology for technology’s sake.

Vendor and Tool Guidance

If you are evaluating specific AI tools or being pitched by vendors, we provide an independent assessment. We are not tied to any platform or provider, so our advice is based entirely on what is right for your business.

What You Get

At the end of the engagement you will have:

  • A full AI readiness assessment for your business
  • A prioritised opportunity map showing where AI creates the most value
  • A clear implementation roadmap with timelines and indicative costs
  • Honest guidance on tools, vendors and build vs buy decisions
  • A follow-up session to walk through findings and answer questions

Why The GEO Agency

Most AI consultants come from a technology background. They know the tools but they do not always understand the commercial reality of running a business.

Our Director, Ayse Durmush comes from 28 years of digital and business strategy: working with organisations like Google, Apple, Microsoft, LEGO, Virgin and O2. We understand both the technology and what actually moves the needle commercially.

We also understand AI visibility. Many businesses invest in AI implementation but neglect the fact that their customers are using AI to find and evaluate them. We look at both sides: internal AI implementation and external AI visibility: because both affect your bottom line.

Start with the diagnosis: The Digital Footprint Analysis

Most businesses arrive knowing the numbers are down and not knowing why. Visits are softer, enquiries are thinner, the ads are working less well than they did, and nothing obvious has changed. The instinct is to spend more on whatever moved the needle last time.

The Digital Footprint Analysis exists to stop that guess. It reads every trace your business leaves online, in one pass, and tells you which of them is actually costing you. Not a channel review, and not a website audit. A diagnosis across the whole footprint, because the cause is usually somewhere nobody is looking.

The ten traces we read

  • Your website. Whether it can be crawled, indexed and understood, and whether the pages that are meant to sell are the ones doing the work.
  • Search. What you appear for, where you sit, and the difference between being seen and being chosen.
  • AI and answer engines. What ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews say when someone asks a question you should be the answer to, saved verbatim and dated.
  • Paid media. Whether spend is compensating for a problem rather than fixing it, and what happens to enquiries when it pauses.
  • Social. Whether activity is producing anything measurable, or absorbing time that belongs elsewhere.
  • Reviews and reputation. What independent sources say, and whether an engine can find, read and verify any of it.
  • Earned and third party. Press, directories, registers and mentions you do not control but that decide whether a claim is corroborated.
  • Stale records. Old addresses, closed locations, retired phone numbers and abandoned profiles still circulating and still being believed.
  • Your measurement. Whether the numbers being reported to you describe what is actually happening. Very often the scoreboard is the problem.
  • Work already done. What previous agencies and staff built, what is still live, and what is quietly working against you.

What it replaces

Every business we speak to has been offered the same explanations for a bad quarter. It is seasonal. It is the algorithm. It is the market. It is the economy. It is just a blip. Give it another quarter.

Some of those are occasionally true. The trouble is that none of them can be tested, so none of them can be acted on, and each one buys another three months of the same. A diagnosis replaces them with something specific: this is the trace that is broken, this is what it is costing, and this is what fixing it involves.

What the analysis produces

  • A ranked list of what is actually costing you, ordered by impact rather than by how easy it is to fix.
  • The evidence behind each finding. Saved answers, dated, engines named. Where something could not be confirmed, it is recorded as not verified rather than counted as absent.
  • A clear read on which of the five pillars is the constraint, so the next spend goes to the thing holding you back rather than the thing you are most comfortable buying.
  • What to ignore. Usually the most valuable part. Knowing which channel to stop worrying about is worth as much as knowing which one to fix.

When you do not need consulting

If you already know the problem is AI search, you do not need the diagnosis. Skip it and start the work: GEO if you need to be recommended by AI engines, AEO if you need to be cited in answers, SEO if the foundations are the constraint, or reputation and trust if the proof exists but nothing can verify it.

Consulting is for the case where the numbers are down and the cause is genuinely unknown, or where the answer spans several areas at once and the order of work matters more than any single fix. If you are certain what is wrong, paying to be told is a waste.

What consulting cannot do

It cannot fix a product or service problem with better positioning. It cannot promise a recovery timeline, because that depends on which trace is broken and how long it has been broken. It cannot make decisions for you, and it is not a document you file: a diagnosis nobody acts on is an expensive opinion. And it cannot substitute for doing the work afterwards, which is why the analysis ends in a prioritised plan rather than a verdict.

See what an AI visibility audit covers for the detail behind the AI and answer engines trace, or The Baseline™ for the five pillar version. Google’s own guidance on measuring search performance is published in Search Console documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an AI consulting engagement take?

Most initial engagements run over two to four weeks depending on the size and complexity of your business. We work at your pace and around your team’s availability.

Do you implement the recommendations as well?

We can. Many clients choose to have us implement specific recommendations, particularly around AI automation, GEO and AI visibility, as a follow-on engagement. Others take the roadmap and implement internally or with their existing technology partners.

How is this different from a standard digital strategy review?

AI consulting focuses specifically on where artificial intelligence, including automation, generative AI, and AI search visibility, can create commercial value in your business. It is narrower and more actionable than a broad digital strategy review.

What size business is this suitable for?

This service is best suited to established businesses with a team, existing operations and a genuine appetite to implement change. If you are an early stage startup or sole trader, our GEO audit and automation services are likely a better starting point. Not Sure where AI Fits in Your Business Book a Call Book today

What is the Digital Footprint Analysis?

A diagnosis that reads every trace your business leaves online in one pass: your website, search, AI and answer engines, paid media, social, reviews, earned and third party mentions, stale records, your measurement, and work already done. It tells you which of them is costing you.

How is this different from an audit?

An audit checks one area against a checklist. The analysis looks across the whole footprint to find where the constraint actually sits, which is often not the area you would have audited.

Do we have to buy the programmes afterwards?

No. The output is a prioritised plan you can hand to anyone, including your existing team or agency. Plenty of clients take it and implement it themselves.

What if we already know the problem?

Then skip the diagnosis and start the work. Paying to be told something you already know is a waste, and we will say so.
